It was a fairly busy night when the Emergency Department received a patch from the ambulance that they were bringing in a patient with a chief complaint of "chest pain". Upon arrival Jaime was quick to assess the patient and put him in Bed 1. It was then determined that the patient was having a MI. Jaime was fast to help prepare the patient for cardiac cath lab and she asked the patient if there was anyone that he would like for her to contact. The patient asked that she call his daughter and inform her of his current critical condition. Jaime made that call, the daughter explained to Jaime that she did not have any transportation to get to the hospital, however, she only lived a few blocks away and that she could just run to the hospital (this is in middle of the night). Jaime was fast on her feet (as you might say) and told the daughter that she would come and get her. After first, making sure that the patient was well taken care of, Jaime drove her own vehicle to get the patients' daughter. Jaime was there and back within a matter of 5 to 10 minutes with the patient's daughter.
Jaime treats each patient with the respect they deserve. She is one of the most caring, loving and thoughtful nurses. Jaime is always more than happy to help her co-workers with questions and is truly a team player.
