I knew she helped make this an enriching, supportive, and positive environment.
I've always handled having cancer well. I'm 25, and I'm going through my 2nd diagnosis. After I completed my first fight, I found myself sad for some days, thinking about how I didn't see the team here so much (for the best reason). It's crazy to think that you could actually look forward to treatments. Jamie Craig made treatment feel like it wasn't a chore. I was excited to come. I knew she helped make this an enriching, supportive, and positive environment. I can't begin to describe the impact Jamie has made on my everyday outlook on this fight. She has become a friend I can trust. I don't like talking about my health with people, including nurses and doctors, but I immediately felt comfortable with her. Infusion, we have a lot of people come in and out throughout the day. You get to watch and hear interactions between others. It always seems that every patient is pleased with Jamie and is developing a relationship with her like I am. I think her reputation and her body language around patients when they're around her speak to knowing that Jamie goes above and beyond. You don't need to see the small things because her impact is apparent. The most compassion you could think of someone offering. People handle their fights differently. No matter the person, Jamie is always able to match the energy and respond in the most stress-relieving way. She's incredibly supportive and a diamond in the rough for this field.
To my nurse, Hey! You should know how much you deserve this. It's hard to talk highly of ourselves when the spotlight is on us, but that's why I'm elated to be able to describe to everybody why you should feel comfortable boasting about yourself when it comes to your work and character. Having a rockstar nurse like you deserves to be recognized.
