Jake took absolutely phenomenal care of a Peds patient with physical disabilities in the ER. When the patient told Jake that she wanted to be a phlebotomist when she grew up, he sat down with her and showed her step-by-step how he needed to draw blood. When the patient's very stressed mom had to step out of the room for an extended amount of time, he volunteered to stay and talk with the patient so that she would not feel lonely and overwhelmed. Mom noted that of all the nurses who have ever helped take care of the patient (and there were many!), Jake was the best. He provided skillful, compassionate care to this family. I would absolutely trust him to take care of me and my family.
