Jake W Anderson, BSN, RN

Jake was my nurse, and I was in a very emotional state before getting to MD Anderson, I felt very dismissed by a lot of providers before finding a specialist who understood my rare mutation. I was scared and worried about my future and my health. Jake sat at my bedside and held my hand while I cried and told him my concerns. He advocated for me to the doctors and showed true concern and compassion. I did not have him the subsequent two days I was inpatient, but he came by every day to see me and check in. Knowing I wasn’t his patient showed me that his passion for patient care is above and beyond. I recall the last day I was there, having a bad reaction to seizure medication and was very agitated and anxious. Jake came in and calmed me down. He demonstrated true love of the profession and patient care.
