According to her nominator, Jalean Larson was willing and available to answer questions regarding the patient's status. "When sensing the family's unease or ability to grasp information, Larson was able to break it down into answers that could be better absorbed," her nominator says. "Larson went out of her way to accommodate (the family's) needs by coordinating multidisciplinary meetings and calls with surgeons while keeping a positive yet realistic spirit."
The family's trust in Larson was, and is, unwavering. "Larson was so clearly emotionally invested in the patient," says the nominator. "She was dedicated to their care and intelligent when articulating next steps in layman's terms."
