A patient arrived to the Emergency room with altered mental status. Upon assessment, the patient started to become more alert, but the RN was unable to obtain a good medical history. James was concerned about the patient's symptoms, so he communicated the importance to the team. His persistence as well as the Emergency Teams dedication led to the discovery of the need for emergency surgery. James' great communication and compassion for the patient was exceptional.
