James was an outstanding nurse on the night shift after I had major abdominal surgery. He introduced himself to me and my wife on his arrival and then came and sat next to my wife and explained to her everything about how he was going to take care of me overnight. He gave his direct number to her so she could call before she went to sleep to check on me.

Throughout my tumultuous night of post-op pain and adjustment to my post-surgery state, James was there whenever I opened my eyes to attend to my every need and reassure me that I was doing great. He was an amazingly calming and reassuring presence at one of the most terrifying times in my life.

When my wife called in the middle of the night to check on me, James was in my room, went through all the good things that were happening post-op, and let her speak to me for reassurance before she went to sleep. I wholeheartedly recommend James for The DAISY Award. He is an outstanding person and professional and made an enormous impact on me making both my wife and me feel safe and fully briefed on my post-op first night.
