Tyler took care of my son, V, while he was in the NSICU. V came to USA by ambulance. When he arrived, he was in critical condition. We soon learned that V was suffering from having a massive stroke. He went straight to surgery when he arrived at USA for an emergent procedure.
During this hospitalization, V has had multiple procedures. He was placed on the ventilator and has had several drains placed to remove excess fluid from his brain. He now has a trach and a feeding tube. At one point, we didn't know if he would survive.
There are many caring nurses in NSICU. However, Tyler is the most compassionate nurse that we have encountered. He was always sure to make sure that we were updated and understood what was taking place. He was very professional. Tyler worked closely with the physicians, respiratory therapists, and other staff members to coordinate V's care. He went above and beyond our expectations. He made sure that V was well taken care of on a daily basis.
On Mother's Day, I mentioned to Tyler that it would be my first Mother's Day without receiving a gift from my son. He came to the hospital on his day off with his sweet fiancé and brought me a Mother's Day card. The fact that he came to the hospital on his day off speaks volumes about his character. I can't tell you how it made me feel that he thought enough of me to bless me on that day. I will cherish his card forever.
Tyler is an excellent nurse. He provides the best care for his patients and provides emotional support for their family members. His communication skills and nursing expertise both enable him to provide the absolute best care for his patients. He works well with the other members of the healthcare team. He goes the "extra mile" to make sure that his patients are at ease. He truly exhibits a love for the profession of nursing.
