James took care of a patient who had not had any visitors in the week she had been admitted. She was emotional one day and mentioned to James that her dog had passed away during a previous stay in rehab, and that she never got to say goodbye to it, and she misses it so much.

James shared photos and stories about his dog Maple, and after his shift, he went home and brought Maple back to see the patient. The patient was overrun with emotions and sobbed. The look on her face was pure joy. Such a simple act of kindness from James changed her night.
