During a previous angiogram, my heart stopped on the table while in the Cath lab. So I have a very big fear whenever I have to get one. I get very anxious and scared.
I got admitted for an in-and-out procedure to have an angiogram. I was very emotional and scared and the OR nurse that care and got me absolutely wonderful.
When I went into the OR, I heard old-time hymns playing, and it was instantly soothing. I said, "Who chooses the music?" James said, "I do," and asked if I wanted to listen to other music. I told him no, as I was raised on that kind of music.
When the doctor came in, James put something in my hand, and I realized it was a cross. I cried. I have never had a professional go out of their way for me like that.
I didn't know what it was till I woke up late in the CVICU and the nurse told me I had a heart attack.
Boy oh boy... he sure deserves this award, and he is an exceptional person.
