I worked with James when he was certified nursing assistant and also after he became a nurse. James' patients receive the best care possible.
One of his patients was dying and he worked diligently to get all the processes complete, so the patient could go home to die. The patient made it as far as the elevator and remained there for a period of time. Seeing this, James went down to the Pharmacy and paid for the patient's medications himself. The patient was able to go home to die.
Another incident involved James caring for a patient's pet. The patient, who was very sick, was allowed to have his dog in the room. The only problem was taking the dog out for bathroom breaks. James used his breaks to take the dog outside. He continued doing this when he was working on other floors.
James is good to his patients as well as the other staff. He helps other nurses and the CNA's when needed. James has a heart of gold and deserves the DAISY Award!
