James is the epitome of what it means to encourage, lead, and set an example. He precepts the new hires on our unit and he actually TEACHES them and makes them independent and accountable for their actions. He makes them think about the bigger picture. He takes pride in helping educate and encourage the younger generation of nurses as well as the seasoned ones. He’s constantly trying to implement new ways of learning that can better our patient care. I know for me personally, he has taught me things that I could apply to my nursing practice, as well as encouraged me and never judged. All of these things are important when influencing the younger generation of nurses because it can be pretty intimidating starting out in this field. Our unit is lucky to have our "Jamesy" and this place would be a lot more boring without him.
