James is an RN on 9 North Atrium and is a great asset not only because of his exceptional clinical knowledge and competencies but because of his outstanding commitment to patient advocacy and support of patients and their families. His kindness, compassion and calming demeanor enable him to effectively care for patients at the highest level and improve patient satisfaction and outcomes. James is loved by his co-workers, patients and families.
One example that highlights James's acts of kindness to patients and their families is when he cared for a patient who was a pre admission for a transplant and was nervous about the procedure. His impact on the patient's stay was so significant that the patient's sister called Patient Relationship to compliment him. The sister expressed that James did an outstanding job informing the patient on the procedure and taking away his fears. She said that words cannot describe the appreciation that both she and her brother have for him. The patient had been waiting for a transplant for a year and she said that James's positive attitude was exactly what they needed before the procedure. Although this is just one instance that demonstrates James's incredible beside manor and kindness it is only one of many.
