James is a hard-working, compassionate nurse who is driven by doing what’s right for the Veteran.
James Roth, RN is a man of integrity as he consistently places the needs of others above his own. For example, James was scheduled for a day of leave. He knew that the schedule was going to be hectic that day. There were two nurses scheduled in the Chemotherapy infusion center, both of whom were new to the clinic. The nurses came into work that day expecting to carry a full workload including assisting the MD with new patients. As the nurse assignments were being made…James arrived stating “I could not leave you all here alone in good conscious. I knew it was going to be a rough day, so I came in.” He jumped right in and began taking calls and seeing patients. The day was still a bit chaotic, but with his assistance, it made the day a lot easier to handle. This showed me that James is committed to his job, and respectful of his coworkers and the safety of the Veterans.
On numerous occasions, I have witnessed James respond to code green events. James and the office Manager went down to the parking lot to assist one day with an individual who had fallen attempting to get into his car. They arrived on site prior to the Code Team. James Triaged the veteran and took him to the ER. He then advocated for the patient as the plan was to discharge him home as it was believed he only had a few scrapes. James explained that the individual was on blood thinners, had a lump on his head, and needed evaluation. James followed through with this individual to make sure that he received “WORLD CLASS SERVICE” demonstrating the need to strive for excellence by obtaining the highest quality of care for this individual prior to leaving the station.
James is a hard-working, compassionate nurse who is driven by doing what’s right for the Veteran. His belief of do unto others as you would have them do unto you…is displayed in the care that he gives the veteran. Thank you, James, for being a team player and always giving our Veterans “WORLD CLASS SERVICE!”
