James Steen was truly compassionate. He treated my father with respect and dignity. He shared what he had learned about my dad from spending several days with him: he obviously paid attention and captured his personality and details about his profession- even stating he was humbled by meeting him. He spoke to my father with professional respect, even when he was not lucid. James made sure we knew how serious the situation was. James made sure my father was comfortable when he died. We were devastated by his death, but it's a comfort that he had outstanding care and his suffering was minimal at the end of his life. My mother is a retired nurse- she has commented several times how she has seen patients suffer at end of life but is very grateful James made sure my dad was comfortable. It has been a great comfort to know he had the best possible care at the end of his life. Thank you, James. Your care made a huge impact.
