We arrived in the PICU and to say I was scared is an understatement. My daughter had a blood clot in her lung. She could not breathe. It was so frightening. By the grace of all that we ended up with nurse Taylor. He is attentive, caring, smart, and fast. My daughter was scared and he put her at ease. He made her smile and laugh for the first time in days. If we did not understand something he would explain the material in another way. When my stress level and that of my husband's started to take a toll, he would take the time to make sure we were okay. In all my experience in dealing with nurses at hospitals and in my own family, he is by far one of the best. He puts the patient and family at ease.

Nurse Taylor was the first person I saw in my room. He treated me with love and cared for me like his little sister. He was funny and would joke around making me feel comfortable. When I was scared, he would calm me down and be attentive. I am so happy he was my nurse. He made me feel safe. He deserves this award.
