"A Beacon of Light in the Dark"
Sometimes the extra ordinary is easy to see, like fireworks on the 4th or the heroism of a firefighter running into a burning building to rescue someone. But once in a while the extra ordinary surprises me in an unassumming way, such as the case of Step Down Unit night nurse James Wilkinson. Though nurses must go from patient to patient, James' calm demeanor gave me the illusion that I was his only patient. More so, without fail, he responded to my call in under 5 minutes, always gave me 100%, and tirelessly remained thorough through those otherwise dark & depressing nights. Futhermore, he explained each medicine in depth and re-assured each & every fear.
