The nurse recalls the comfort she felt when seeing Jamie's face as she hung upside down in her vehicle.
This nurse has been a Baptist Team member for a little over 13 years. She always has a great attitude and is willing to help others. She is the first one to pick up extra shifts or swap a day with someone in need. She comes in early and she is always one of the last to leave. She is a team player and everyone's favorite person to work with. She is so kind to all of her patients and puts their needs first. On multiple occasions, this nurse has volunteered to stay late with patients. This nurse is always the first to agree to pick up extra shifts or help when there is a need in the hospital.
When the CVICU waiting room was turned into a unit overnight, she was one of the nurses who volunteered to pick up extra and work there after having worked all week in her full-time position. She is proactive in looking at the schedule and any needs for the next day to ensure we have everything we need and to prevent patients from having their procedures canceled. She has trained many nurses when they were new to the unit and is extremely patient and knowledgeable with them by making everyone feel welcome.
A fellow teammate had a wreck and flipped her car; this nurse was one of the first on the scene and ensured her safety. Unfortunately, the same teammate was in another accident a few months later, this nurse was the first one there again. The nurse recalls the comfort she felt when seeing her face as she hung upside down in her vehicle. She assisted in getting the nurse out of the car and stayed there while comforting the other nurse until help arrived. She treats her teammates like her own family. She is a great friend to everyone and a wonderful nurse! This unit is a better place because of her!
