Jamie was the hospice nurse for my father C, who came out in the early morning to pronounce him after he passed away. She not only helped with his final care, she gave him the dignity that he so deserved.
Jamie is a one-of-a-kind on-call hospice RN. She goes above and beyond with every single patient she visits.
From compliments: I want to share their gratitude toward our wonderful nurse, Jamie Chadziutko. A patient's daughter expressed, "Jamie really connected with my father and treated him as an individual and with dignity even though he was not able to respond. Her presence is very comforting. She explained everything very gently and took her time."
Another patient’s family said: "Jamie, thank you for being with my mom on her final night. Thank you for your compassionate care. I cannot tell you how much your kindness and care of my mom for the past two years. With the utmost love, thanks, and respect."
A letter from a patient’s daughter: "Hello, To Whom It May Concern, I would like to nominate Jamie C for the DAISY Award. Jamie was the hospice nurse for my father C, who came out in the early morning to pronounce him after he passed away. She not only helped with his final care, she gave him the dignity that he so deserved. This was not only an extremely difficult time for us, it was also very sad time. She made us feel deeply respected and valued. She was like an angel that came out at night. She took the time to make sure by father was washed and freshened up at his time of death. She was patient and kind and gave us the ability to grieve appropriately. I will always remember how comforted and supported I felt as a result of her presence and the respectful care she provided to my father. She made me feel incredibly cared for and supported during this most difficult time of my life."
From J: "I would like to nominate Jamie C for the DAISY Award. After an emotionally and physically exhausting final evening into the early morning hours of the passing of C, Jamie arrived at our home to do his pronouncement. We immediately felt comforted as she provided us with much-needed support and compassion. What was significant about her interaction with us was that you could tell she wasn't just going through the motions as she spoke with us. There was a tangible feeling of calmness and peace that pervaded the home while she was with us. After she spoke to us, she immediately proceeded to attend to C. Doing a very respectful assessment of him. She then explained that she was going to bathe him and dress him to provide him with his final moment of dignity. Being a nurse myself I offered to assist her. This interaction and the way she respectfully and sweetly cared for him had a deep and profound impact on me. It was one of the most significant and memorable moments I have ever had working with another nurse. She truly is an angel, and I will never forget how she made us feel that morning. I want to thank her from the bottom my heart for everything that she did to put us at ease during this difficult time."
Note: This is Jamie's 2nd DAISY Award!
