Jamie Christensen 2026, RN
Jamie Christensen is the nurse we all wish to have as a patient and the type of nurse we all strive and aspire to be. She truly is an angel on earth, not only to her NICU patients and their families but to her coworkers as well. She has such a genuine and compassionate heart, and she consistently goes above and beyond.
Jamie does professional photography in addition to working in the NICU. With management’s approval and the parent’s permission, Jamie has frequently donated her time and talent by photographing babies who have unfortunately passed away. She creates beautiful images for these families and provides such compassionate care during what may be the hardest day of someone’s life.
Jamie has applied for and been accepted to Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep, a volunteer organization that can be called at any time to photograph infants who have passed away. She is also seeking out additional training in a photography method specifically for infants who have passed. Jamie is also a fierce patient advocate, always going to bat for her patients even when it is not easy or convenient. She has a strong focus on family-centered care and educating her families. She empowers parents to feel confident in being an active participant in their infant’s care team and confident going home with a medically complex infant. She is a true team player—always willing to help others. She brings such a light to the unit, and I am so honored to work alongside and learn from her.
