My friend came to labor and delivery very fearful. She had just found out that day that she was pregnant, had never seen a doctor during the pregnancy and was so worried of what everyone would think of her. When Jamie walked in to her room she was reassured that she would be cared for and treated with great respect. My friend was very concerned that the staff would judge her actions during the pregnancy and not understand why she made the choices that she did that day.

Jamie told her how brave she was, and reminded her to take things one moment at a time. She got her through a very difficult labor that lasted over two of Jamie's shifts, as we requested that we have Jamie again on the second night. She was the nurse that stood at my friend's and my side as the baby was born and helped to get us through a tough time. We could not have done it without her or the wonderful staff at Mayo. We were so glad to have the experience that we had and so thankful for Jamie. Thanks so much.
