January 2022 Honoree
Jamie Galvan, MSN, BSN, RN
Jamie is one of a kind and the most special nurse I’ve ever worked with. She is full of energy, intelligence, compassion, care, and love to every single one of any kind, age, gender, etc. But most especially in her profession as a nurse. Most often times she is our charge nurse on the floor to which everyone including me is thrilled because she keeps it smooth, organized, and very professional. She treats everyone like family and important.
The unit had a mentally delayed patient who had no family to visit. Jamie made herself available to spend time with him reading his favorite book. I was touched by her gesture and compassion. With no family to recognize her love for her patients on the unit, on behalf of that patient, I raised her to the top and I thanked God we have a wonderful, amazing person in our unit. I am a PCT and I have worked with a lot of nurses from nursing homes to our hospital unit. I can say she amazes me every day with a great down-to-earth attitude. I prayed that one day she’ll get rewarded and recognized because I know God will.

Thank you, Jamie, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
