She always advocates and encourages patient/family engagement and involvement with each patient encounter. Patient-centered care and best practices are important to her and displayed in her nursing leadership. She is always willing to help and enhance patient care.
One of the most recent projects she agreed to was to co-chair the system-wide OB integration and she did an amazing job. This was a huge project, and she was always excited to lead this group and also share with her colleagues the accomplishments that were achieved while obtaining input from the entire team. She demonstrated teamwork, knowledge, and dedication to the work necessary to accomplish this system goal. She always is working hard to ensure involvement from the Redwood team on system committees. She also completed the nursing education for the OB nurses and providers related to this integration. She is involved in many teams to enhance patient care while demonstrating the profession of nursing.
Another large project she was also involved in was the Carris Health Redwood new facility master plan team, which was an essential part of the acute care departments. This included working with staff on developing and identifying new workflows, equipment, simulation, mentoring, etc. that were necessary for staff in the preparation for the move to the new facility. She is always willing to take on a challenge, no matter how big or small the challenge is. She is always willing to jump in and give a hand, regardless of the need. She is always striving to help staff develop through mentorship and grow in their role in the department. She leads several additional teams in Redwood. She displays the true nursing profession each day!
