I was admitted to L&D as a patient here on a Monday evening. This has been, although a miracle, a very trying time with my pregnancy. I have been admitted on 3 separate occasions for extended periods of time for complications. This last admission hit me hard because this time instead of my own medical issues, there was a complication with my unborn son.
Jamie began taking care of me that Tuesday morning. I was depressed, confused and in pain, and out of sorts with understanding my child's condition. Jamie was AWESOME. When I am hurting, I am not receptive to receiving care. She didn't push hard but let me know she was there for me. If I had questions, she found answers. She got the chaplain at my request. She listened to me cry without overstepping her professionalism. She helped mend me in a lot of ways. She was not my nurse Wednesday, but because of her, I walked via my doctor's orders. I was more open. I have experienced good nurses in the past, but Jamie exceeded my expectations.
