CCU received a patient who suffered an anoxic brain injury out in the community. The family made the decision to honor the patient and fulfill his wishes of being an organ donor. Jamie helped the family navigate through this difficult time with love, respect, and compassion. Jamie wanted to ensure the family had something to remember the patient by. She phoned OB and asked for handprint cards. Jamie, as well as an OB tech, made plaster impressions of the patient holding hands with the fiancée. Although this was a tragic situation for the family, Jamie was able to give them something to smile about that day.

This is one of many instances in which Jamie has provided support to a grieving family.
