She's such a wonderful nurse and even better human being.
My husband came to Sanford as a surgical patient, and all of the nurses were okay, but on Thursday morning, a nurse, Jamie, came on duty, and everything changed! She was upbeat, friendly, positive, always smiling, and gave us all the information about my husband and what was going on with him and what would be happening during the day.
He was having trouble with his pain meds, and she worked with him, asking lots of questions and noticing his discomfort. She also gave him a bed bath. She was very busy with other patients, but always smiling and willing to help. Jamie also kept the room neat and tidy, so I was very surprised when she gave all the care that an aide or other staff would do. She is a top-notch employee!

My father had a week's stay in the hospital, and when Jamie walked in, she was like a ray of sunshine. She was attentive and friendly, spoke with him, addressed his concerns, and shared information with us. She was the first nurse all week who had spent any amount of time with him, and she was very busy with others as well.
She truly tried to help him and knew what he needed before he had to ask, especially with managing pain. He does not respond well to oxy, and he was refusing to take it. She convinced him that the benefits of staying on top of things were important to his recovery, to help him have restful sleep, tolerate therapies, and heal. She talked to him about his medications and was willing to ask the doctor to switch his stronger meds.
She was such a happy person, and you could truly tell she loves her job. Jamie was the best nurse he had during his entire stay. The room was clean, his bed was changed, and he rested well. She deserves a few bouquets of daisies. She's such a wonderful nurse and even better human being.
