On Sunday morning, Jamie received a call at the nurse's station from our unit secretary, T, and she had fallen on the ice trying to get to her car and wasn't able to get up. The staff called 911 and was told to call the local dispatch. Upon calling the local dispatch, the staff was asked why they couldn't get to her instead. Thinking that no one would be able to get to her, Jamie drove to her home and found her laying on the ground in the rain. She was unable to get her up, and thankfully the EMS did show up. Once they were able to get her on the stretcher, they had to call for the fire department's assistance because they couldn't get the stretcher up the hill where they were. Jamie stayed there with T trying to keep her warm and holding an umbrella over her trying to help keep her dry while she was getting soaked by the rain. They were finally able to get T into the ambulance and transferred here to the hospital where she is going to need surgery for her broken leg/ankle. Jamie came back to work to give report and then went home. Jamie even came into work last night after all that. Jamie is one of the most selfless people I know and is always going out of her way to make sure everyone feels at home and is taken care of. She has the best attitude and one of the best nurses on the floor. She is a true DAISY Nurse.
