Jamie is the kind of nurse every hospital needs. She is real, human, and down to earth. She has a gift for really making the patient feel they are valuable in making decisions about their care. Jamie has a positive vibe as a nurse when you talk with her while at the same time making you feel like you have known her forever as a friend. She explains your medication to make sure you know what and why you are taking them while at the same time, she does not force medicines that you are not comfortable with taking.

Jamie goes out of her way to make certain that your needs are met and you are comfortable. The minute she opens her mouth, she talks with you like you are one of her family members yet is very professional and knowledgeable. I know that she would be busy taking care of other patients but when she walked in the room, she made me feel like I was her only patient which gave me much peace and assurance. I wish I could take her home so I could have her present to encourage and inspire my hope of getting better. You are an angel Jamie and I thank you for everything.

Jamie, You are an exceptional nurse! Not only did I have the opportunity to see your “nurse side” but I also saw the human side of you. You absolutely went out of your way to help with my nausea when Zofran was not ordered. You even shared a piece of gum to help settle my stomach while you contacted the doctor. My husband thought I knew you from before coming to the hospital by the way we interacted. I told him, “No, I’ve never met her before, she’s my nurse and she is great.” He was totally surprised and thought we were friends.

You took the time to keep me company while checking on me whenever you had a chance. I was so lucky to have a nurse like you, and thank you for taking care of me. I hope that I was not too challenging especially since I am not used to being a patient and on the other side of the fence taking care of patients. As a fellow healthcare worker, I know how stressful and overwhelming it can be on a daily basis with staffing and really ill patients. With a nurse like you in the profession, the quality of nursing care will continue to be at a high level. I hope you realize how much you touch lives and thanks for touching mine.
