I am grateful that nurses like Jamie are providing care for military families here in Naples.
Our son, who just turned 3, had to have his tonsils taken out. He has already had one surgery less than a year ago to place tubes and remove adenoids. He has been incredibly anxious about the doctor and was very nervous about surgery. Living abroad has been amazing, but when it comes to having surgery away from major support systems like our family, there are added layers of stress. The entire OR staff at NSA Naples was absolutely incredible in the care they provided not only to my son but also in their treatment, respect, and education offered to myself and my spouse as the parents.
I cannot say enough good things about the care that Jamie provided. My son was in the very best hands. I am grateful that nurses like Jamie are providing care for military families here in Naples. Small details that made such a difference include saying things like the blood pressure cuff was going to measure how big my son’s muscles were, offering to put the pulse ox on their own finger before my son’s when my son was scared, dressing my son’s stuffed animal in a mask and hair net, and going out of their way to ensure my son was as comfortable as he could be even when he was clearly nervous. We left feeling empowered to manage all post-op care and spot any signs of complications. I felt confident leaving, knowing that my son was safe and that all of my questions had been thoroughly and thoughtfully answered.
