Jamie's enthusiasm for the OB rapid response project occurred as a result of a clinical experience where she exhibited amazing clinical skill. On Jamie's first night as a clinical manager (yes first night on the job) she was responsible for leading a team in a code for a mother that resulted in a c-section. This is an incredibly rare occurrence fortunately in OB. A c-section was done right in the patient's room as we did not have time to go to the OR. Jamie flawlessly led her team through this critical event and the patient and baby both survived. This was a very traumatic experience for all of our team let alone a new leader. Jamie used this experience as an opportunity to continue to educate our team and redesign the OB rapid response process. I truly believe without Jamie's experience as a high risk L and D nurse and her actions during an emergency that we would not have had such a great outcome.
