May 2011 Honoree
jamie upton, RN
Jamie Upton is very deserving of the DAISY award, according to the daughter of one of his patients who was in congestive heart failure:
“Jamie was not only compassionate, but he made Dad feel like he was his most important patient. He listened attentively to the questions that Dad asked, and answered every one of them kindly and patiently in a manner Dad was able to understand. He comforted me when I was struggling with my emotions. He went out of his way to make me comfortable, especially the night when I stayed in Dad’s room overnight. Jamie moved a reclining chair in for me to sleep on, got a pillow and blanket for me and brought me coffee and water. Jamie checked on both Dad and me many times during the night. I could not have asked for anyone better to take care of Dad.”
Thank you Jamie, for making a real difference for Sanford patients.
