June 2015 Honoree
jamie veith, RN
Jamie is a role model for nurses in the Surgery Department. She started in the OR as a scrub tech and went back to school for her RN (BSN) while working full time. She not only is an O.R. circulating nurse, but she also scrubs cases. During down times, you will often find Jamie in other operating rooms helping them. Recently she was asked to represent Surgery at an Infection Prevention Meeting and she eagerly accepted.
She recently obtained her OR certification (CNOR). When she learned of a study group being formed for the certification, she signed up and went on her own time. The course was held over several weeks. She belongs to AORN and has already utilized their resources. Jamie is constantly seeking learning opportunities.
She is a wonderful patient advocate and is well like by her co-workers. Jamie is trained in all services in surgery and is looked upon as a leader in knowledge in this department. She is willing to help out wherever she is needed whether it be circulating or scrubbing.
