I trusted Jamila because she was honest with me and did what she said she would. Jamila is such a compassionate nurse.
Where do I start? I showed up from the ER in absolute distress, screaming and throwing up. I was due for my pain medication that has to be mixed in the pharmacy. It took 2 hours to get it. Jamila worked so hard, she went down to the south side because they said they sent it there, but it got lost. Poor Jamila tried to comfort me and find my medicine. Then I passed out from the pain. Jamila couldn't get me to respond so she called a Rapid Response. What an introduction! Jamila was calm and in control but with a great sense of urgency always. Jamila talked to me every time she did something. I'm blind and I can't tell what's going on around me. Usually it takes people a while to get used to how to help me. It was like Jamila has been working with blind people her whole life. Jamila always told me what she was doing, what medicine I was getting and did I have any questions, and when she would be back, and that I could call anytime. I trusted Jamila because she was honest with me and did what she said she would. Jamila is such a compassionate nurse. She took the time to get to know me, ask about my family, and tried to help me through my pain. What a great nurse. Kaiser is lucky to have her on staff. What an advocate for her patients!
