Jan Bruns, RN

I have a special kind of admiration for Jan. The way she advocates for her patients is something so special! She does it in a way that I don't see too often. She really puts herself in their shoes and loves them so fiercely. Last week, we had a pretty sick patient, and throughout his whole stay, she advocated for him, even on the days she was not assigned to him. The patient ended up transferring to another hospital for care that we couldn't provide. She was strong-willed all day to make sure it happened because it was what the patient needed. This is just one of the many examples I've seen her big heart in action. I feel so privileged to work alongside her. I hope a DAISY is a start so she knows how special she is.
