Jan is being nominated for the DAISY award because she is committed to Bryan's core values.  She cares like crazy by being in tune of feelings of others whether it is students or coworkers.  She listens intently and provides comfort in stressful times.  She truley enjoys the journey by being excited about educating nursing students. She truly is a leader. She encourages students to reach their potential in a safe environment. .  Whether it is for the student, coworker, staff or patient, she is willing to provide an extra hand, comfort, eeucation, time or just another cup of coffee. 
Another nominee - Jan emulates not only the criteria to be a DAISY award winner, but also the core values of the Medical Center.  I was fortunate enough to have Jan as my own faculty member during my nursing education.  I clearly remember her genuine kindness and compassion, especially during clinical.  The students that she advises quickly develop a trusting relationship with her and understand that she is someone that will support them throughout their education, extending beyond graduation.  Jan has a positive attitude and works hard to share it.
