Jana has been like family since the first day she arrived. She has taken my “resident” nurses under her wing and helped teach them clinical skills and tricks of the trade. My staff will tell you that they love and appreciate her. They tell me all the time how appreciative they are of her. They also tell me stories about how she teaches them this or that and how well she helps them troubleshoot. What makes her so special is the wonderful things she does for her patients each and every day. We have a patient with a very-very complex wound issue that requires frequent wound care nurse support and a wound vac. Jana has worked with the WOC team to help master caring for his wound and she has trained my entire staff on how to be competent with wound vacs in general. This patient asks for her by name to help care for him and his wound. Jana takes it upon herself to brighten his spirits. He was a new man after his time with her that day!!! He smiled from ear to ear and his spirits were lifted higher than they had been in months. She truly goes above and beyond each day she works. She is a very special nurse with a compassionate heart. It is not just a “job” for her it is a calling!
