Janae is a shining example of Living Our Values Everyday. She continuously does the right thing and serves with empathy and compassion. She takes the time to listen and understand what her patients need. She goes above and beyond in getting the right information to give to the patient to answer their questions and ease their fears. Recently, she spent over an hour on the phone with a patient from our Cedar Heart Clinic who had a lot of questions and concerns. This patient was emotional due to what he perceived as a lack of effort from his provider's office (an office that Janae does not directly work in). During her conversation, she was inquisitive and sensitive to his needs. She learned that this patient did not have the ability to receive the STAT testing that was ordered by the physician. She was clear and concise in her communication with the patient regarding what was necessary to make the testing happen. She then worked with other members of the team to ensure this patient had the resources he needed and he was able to schedule for his testing. Through it all, she showed patience and compassion, despite high emotions and pre-conceived notions working against her.

Frequently working through staffing challenges, Janae has a positive attitude and outlook. Her ability and desire to see the bigger picture and what is important - our patients and each other - has been a great addition to the cardiology team. She has taken on a lead position, helping work through workflow challenges, clinical initiatives, and process improvement. She does so while keeping patients and colleagues in mind.
