We had planned a very different experience before other matters came into play. Yet, thanks to Jane especially, we would not have changed a thing looking back
Jane Firth, a Midwife at the John Radcliffe Hospital, was recognised for her excellent care when looking after a woman going through the challenge of her first labour.
The nomination, submitted by the woman's family, praised Jane's "exemplary care, compassion, and for going above and beyond".
Jane was also praised for "keeping our spirits up" and "taking away a lot of our fears while on her watch".
The nomination added: "It was our first experience of childbirth and labour, and we had planned a very different experience before other matters came into play. Yet, thanks to Jane especially, we would not have changed a thing looking back."
For Jane's exemplary sense of duty, care, compassion, and for going above and beyond, we'd love Jane to be recognised for the wonderful midwife that she is.
