Jane made corsages for him and his daughter
Jane Goetz frequently goes above and beyond for patients and their families. Two certain instances come to mind where she went above and beyond.
Last year, a frequent patient on the unit had cancer and was not expected to live much longer. It was his daughter's prom and Jane made corsages for him and his daughter. She arranged for the daughter to come to the hospital in her prom dress and wheeled him outside for pictures. Keep in mind that going outside when hospitalized is no small feat, especially from ICU. It's a big deal!
Recently, while Jane was caring for a COVID recovered patient who was on ECMO waiting for a lung transplant she noticed he was very depressed. She knew he is a cheer coach and very close with his team. She called the patient's wife asking her to contact the team and ask them to stand outside across the highway and cheer while holding signs for the patient. The plan was to roll the patient to the window to see them. The wife is extremely excited about this opportunity.
