Nomination #1) Dr. Paige is an AMAZING example of everything this award encompasses. Dr. Paige has been a natural leader for the Nursing Department for many years. She has served in a formal leadership role as the Program Director, but even more importantly, she has served in the informal leadership role as a mentor for so many of her colleagues. Dr. Paige takes the time to reach every faculty member using a variety of approaches to achieve unity within the department. Not only does she engage in peer mentoring, but she is a role model for students entering into the profession. I have witnessed her teaching students in the classroom, lab, and simulation setting, and I see the passion, compassion, and dedication that she displays in every encounter. Dr. Paige encourages each student to develop their critical thinking and to promote their clinical reasoning by the thoughtful questions she asks. She has been an excellent example for students and faculty on how to participate in the research process. She has been the author of several peer reviewed articles, led a summer grant research project at MSOE, and also encouraged her peers to take the lead in the research process while continuing to offer support. She is never one to expect praise or recognition. She leads by example and will be dearly missed when she steps down from her role as Program Director. The MSOE School of Nursing is an exceptional environment because of Dr. Paige and her tireless efforts. Thank you Dr. Paige for everything you do for our department!

Nomination #2) Dr Paige has supported students, faculty and staff for numerous years as our Program Director for over a decade. She has provided excellence in clinical and classroom teaching with a strong commitment to simulation learning for faculty and students. As a faculty member here, I believe I would have never remained without her encouragement and guidance. She has some cool passion with students beyond measure and yet adhered to university and nursing policy and procedure. This is not an easy feat and yet she has been consistent for many years with this behavior. She has been published and acknowledged outside of the US as a leader in nursing. We would not have the strength in our program today without the time, energy, passion and dedication she has shown. I cannot think of anyone who deserves this award more than her as she now is stepping away from her directorship position to a role of full-time faculty. She truly deserves this award! Thank you.
