Jane Posten, BSN, RN, RNC-MNN, PHN

This award is a long time coming! Jane was my nurse 10 years ago when our first baby, our daughter, was born. Back then, there were no DAISY nominations at Regions Hospital, so I figured I would do one now! Jane was so caring, sweet, and wonderful to all of us! We were new and very overwhelmed parents of a rather fussy little baby. Jane was such a calming presence, and we felt fully supported by her, which helped us believe in our own parenting skills. She made sure to check both my daughter and me thoroughly. As the mother, sometimes it seems like the baby is always the first priority; Jane made me feel cared for and well taken care of also. She also shared the “Rockabye baby” radio station to help calm the baby, especially when preparing to sleep or take a nap. We ended up using this radio station for at least 7 years total between both of our kids. ​

Fast forward 10 years, and I'm actually a coworker of Jane’s in the birth center! Her loving and tender care encouraged me to want to work at the birth center myself (after going back to school and getting my RN degree)! As a co-worker, she brings joy and humor to our work environment. It’s so fun to see what an impact Jane has had on me, and still continues to have as a coworker! I cannot say enough great things about Jane! ​
