The specific situation we are talking about in this nomination spans 26 years. Jane has shown a strong commitment to Nursing, Nurses and patients. Inspired by her compassionate and transformational style, nurses have felt inspired to emulate this and role model to others. In recent years Jane has demonstrated particular tenacity and resilience throughout the MAGNET Journey. When skepticism about MAGNET was at its highest level, Jane continued to drive her vision delivering consistent and pragmatic messages about how MAGNET will improve the quality of care for patients and improve the staff experience. This work has culminated the recruitment of MAGNET Ambassador roles and in the recent development and successful launch of the Professional Practice Model.

As nurses we are inspired by Jane's individuality shown through her choice of handbags, hair colour and lipsticks, giving the message loud and clear "be true to yourself". Having established the DAISY Award Program within this organisation (the only Trust in the UK to do so) with full support from the DAISY Foundation, the nurses of the South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust would now like to recognize her contribution to Nursing Excellence by honoring her with the DAISY Award.
