Nurses' time is a valuable resource within a patient's hospital stay. It is at that time that not only are medical treatments being completed but also relationships are being molded. These interactions allow staff to individualize patient care instructions towards each individual's needs. A patient expressed gratitude towards Jane for "not sugar coating the facts" and "telling him everything to expect". He states that the information was delivered just the way he needed in order to receive it. Jane's ability to create relationships also assists other departments in completing necessary tests from less than cooperative patients.
