I've never met anyone like Janell. She was my nurse during my second lung surgery and was also my nurse when my lung collapsed again this past week, after a bilateral collapse the week before. Safe to say I've been in extreme pain and everything on me hurts. Also, the insane amount of wires I have to be hooked up to as well as my chest tubes cause me pretty bad anxiety. That's where I cannot thank God enough that Janell was here. She remembered me from my last surgery and has taken hands-down the best care of me - physically, mentally, and emotionally. She has brought so much light to a scary situation, and I'll never be able to thank her enough for all that she has done. From being an amazing listener when I started panicking, to being a calming and reassuring source (that also has some great jokes). I cannot stress enough how much I, as well as my family, believe she deserves this award. She is the best nurse and I am so grateful that I had her.
