Janelle Coleman-Smith, RN

Janelle Coleman-Smith is an exceptional highly motivated nurse with solid clinical acumen in multiple fields of nursing. She has made numerous impressive contributions at Kaiser Santa Rosa, emphasizing improvement in patient outcomes at the heart of all her hard work. This past year, Janelle played a major role in launching the Compassionate Withdrawal Protocol (CWP) throughout the hospital by collaborating with all key stakeholders. Janelle realized there was an area of opportunity to help our patients transition from life-supporting measures to a more peaceful and dignified death. This evidence-based protocol helps to support patients' goals of care and autonomy, two key components of providing patient-centered care. Janelle remains committed to always improving the protocol by seeking feedback from all key contributors, primary care nurses, and adult service leadership.
