My father was admitted to UCSF and upon admission, a tracheostomy procedure was performed on him, and he was not able to communicate verbally. This caused immense stress on my father. With my father's condition, he was very afraid and felt despondent, but Janelle was able to shine a bright light of positivity on him. Her positive attitude, quick wit, and humor made my father smile for the first time during his hospitalization. It was a rare sight to see him smiling as he did. Janelle not only radiates positive energy but her quality of care and attention to my father's health was immaculate. Her explanation of the drugs, and constantly checking in on my father, made an everlasting impact on him. I can see that Janel cared for my father, not only as a patient but as a person.

With each visit, her presence felt like a breath of fresh air. It's amazing to see how Janelle was able to connect to my father and made him feel genuine happiness in such a short time. Having positive support during a stressful moment in life can help make the moment less stressful. Janelle not only ensured that my father was healthy physically, but she made sure that he was also mentally and emotionally healthy. During any hospital stay, it can be extremely hard on patients, but I can say without a doubt that during my father's hospitalization, the highlight of his stay was while under the care of Janelle.
