It has been especially difficult considering there are no visitors allowed due to the COVID pandemic. I had an extra special visitor though: Janelle.
When I think of Janelle, a smile immediately comes to my face. Janelle never fails to brighten my day.
I have been on 3B for 19 days. It has been especially difficult considering there are no visitors allowed due to the COVID pandemic. I had an extra special visitor though: Janelle. Janelle would come to my room and talk with me when she would have time to. (She always made time to) She would talk to me to make me feel better and to distract me from the pain I was in. We would talk about completely unrelated things, such as her little kiddos, the millions of donuts she consumed in the breakroom (sorry, Janelle, I had to include that in here), my hobbies, and she would also let me talk to her about my struggles. She is one of the best listeners ever. She is so kind and nonjudgmental.
The first day I got to 3B, Janelle was my nurse. She welcomed me. Although she had her mask on, I could tell that she had a warm, friendly smile on her face. She talked to me and explained what was going on. She printed out coloring pages and brought me some crayons without me even asking her to do so. It was so sweet. I knew from then on that she was one amazing nurse, and I was 100% correct.
Note: This is Janelle's 2nd DAISY Award!
