Everyone was kind and respectful and professional after my mother died. People grieve differently. I felt embarrassed and odd to want to come visit the hall or just go and walk in front of her former room. I went to the desk a year later. RN Janet Harrison said she remembered me. She took me down to my mother's old room. No one was in the room. She hugged me and let me relive what happened. Her remembrance of my mother's death, her sweet kindness blessed me. It meant everything to me. I told her that she is a great symbol for Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. A shining example for Carilion Clinic and respect for the hospital. She changed the course of the 1st anniversary of my mother's death and I am so grateful.
