Janet bought a winter jacket for one of our cancer patients.
Janet has worked as an RN in the Family Medicine Clinic at Mammoth Hospital since 2021. Janet received 5 nominations this year and she is the epitome of a DAISY Nurse. Here are some highlights from her nominations:
I could nominate Janet for a hundred different situations where she went above and beyond to provide extraordinary care to our patients. From calling multiple pharmacies in Mexico to coordinate where a patient will be able to rent a CPAP machine while visiting family, to staying with a patient that felt very faint during a lab draw for an hour while she recovered, to riding her bike up to Vons to pick up a medication for a patient that couldn't get there themselves. Janet shows up for patients.

Janet is always available to take a deep dive in with these patients, helping our team connect with their primary care provider about referrals to be placed, medications to be clarified, orders for equipment and supplies, follow-up on critical lab values, and expediting appointments for acute needs. She is a joy to work with, and we always know that when she takes on a task for our patients, it will be completed in a comprehensive manner with tack, grace, and timeliness. Thank you, Janet, for all you do!

Janet bought a winter jacket for one of our cancer patients; she reaches out to the caregivers of one of our patients with dementia almost daily, she has driven patients when they can't make it in, she has brought patients meds at home… The examples are endless. Her commitment to the patients is inspiring and certainly something to which I aspire. Family medicine and this community are so lucky to have her.
