Janet is a tremendous asset to our unit, and while we will greatly miss her presence, her impact will continue to be felt through the knowledge, standards, and culture she helped build.
It is with great pleasure that we present Janet Martinez, MSN, RNC-MNN, PED-BC, with the prestigious DAISY Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of her outstanding contributions to nursing at NYP Westchester. Janet has devoted an impressive 36 years of service to the field of nursing, with most of her career dedicated to providing exceptional care to pediatric patients.
Janet is deeply committed to excellence and actively contributes to multiple hospital committees, including Professional Shared Governance, Evidence-Based Practice Research Council, Quality Council, Nursing Informatics, and the Reward, Recognition, and Respect Committee. Her involvement reflects her dedication to advancing nursing practice and improving patient outcomes.
As a pediatric night staff nurse, Janet is a true team player who consistently supports her colleagues and leads by example. She has played a key role in several unit-based initiatives across pediatrics and postpartum, enhancing education, quality, and the patient and family experience.
Janet is always eager to learn and has a strong passion for evidence-based practice. She generously shares her knowledge, mentors others, and encourages professional growth, while fostering an inclusive, collaborative, and supportive work environment.
From a leadership perspective, as her manager, I can confidently say that Janet has been deeply devoted to her role.
